The roots of the Lamp Aire Company find their beginnings during the early 1990’s when company founder, Victoria Richards, first began to develop her concept for an improved delivery mechanism for therapeutic essential oils.  Ms. Richards began her task of developing effective essential oil blends by first personally visiting all of the potential manufactures and suppliers of the essential oils that she would use.  Each company was graded on purity, product knowledge, quality control, and manufacturing capabilities.  Only the highest quality suppliers were selected (less than 1 out of every 4 companies visited passed the rigorous supplier audit) to be the suppliers of Lamp Aire therapeutic essential oils.

Once the appropriate supply chains had been identified, four initial categories of essential oil blends were blended using the most comprehensive documented references available.  Absolutely no adulterating materials were included in any of the formulated blends, including perfumes or any other chemical additives.  Each blend was tested until it passed all of the criteria outlined for an effective therapeutic essential oil blend.

The next task was to identify the best dispersion procedure for the therapeutic essential oil blends. Victoria found that the most consistent way to deliver the therapeutic essential oils into the air was using a catalytic diffusion device.

For the next several years the delivery system was perfected into what is today the Lamp Aire brand.  The flagship of the Lamp Aire brand is the therapeutic essential oil diffusion lamp that began Lamp Aire.  More recently, other products have been developed and made available as customers have expanded their interest in the use of the proprietary oil blends.

Why is the Lamp Aire delivery system of Therapeutic Essential Oils Best?

Traditionally, essential oils have been delivered to the user using oil pots and simmering dishes.  While these techniques have been used for centuries they do not deliver the essential oil in a consistent way.  In fact, oil pots and simmering dishes volatilize the essential oils in very unnatural ways. 

All essential oils are composed of complex mixtures of plant components that have been extracted from those plants using steam distillation.  Almost all of these components will evaporate when heated.  Some of the components of the essential oil will evaporate easily when warmed and some components evaporate very slowly.  When the oils are first placed in the warming pots the components of the essential oils that evaporate easily fill the air rapidly.  After a fairly short period of time however, these rapidly evaporating materials have all been volatilized leaving behind in the dish only the slower evaporating components.  So, in traditional simmering pots, initially the air is filled with predominately the easily evaporated materials and later the air is filled with the slowly evaporated materials.  This uneven evaporation leads to mixed benefits of the essential oil.

The Lamp Aire diffuser has been designed to evaporate the complete essential oil consistently regardless of the time that it is being used.  The entire oil essence is evaporated simultaneously giving the user the complete therapeutic benefit of the complex mixture.  Additionally, because the Lamp Aire diffuser is the coolest possible system, the essence of the essential oil is virtually unchanged from its original state while passing through the diffuser.
